Most Filipino parents always put in the minds of their children on the onset of attending the school that they need to study hard and do their best in their studies so they will land on a good job. WebEducation in the Philippines is valued not because Filipinos value learning but because education is a means to end. It is the degree that is valued. In that sense, the spirit of scholarly pursuits is largely missing from people. What is valued is the capacity to comply to rules and systems no matter how dumb those systems really are.
