In areas where the surface may be exposed to water splashing I use either Denshield, or a cement-backer. The rest of the walls get regular drywall, the thinking being that the humidity in the room should be dealt with by ventilation. WebGreenboard is moisture resistant so that you can apply water based adhesives and plaster over it, it is not suitable for wet environments. That is a very common misconception, even among carpenters and installers. Use cement board in wet environments, and steam counts as wet. If you don't do it now you will the next time.
