Rev. John S. Dooley
Senior Pastor

Pastor John is a life long resident of the Roanoke area.  He attended public schools graduating from William Byrd High School in 1973.  After high school graduation, John went to work for United Parcel Service until 1988.  At that time, he felt the call of God leading him into full-time ministry which resulted in his resignation from UPS in order to attend classes at Liberty University.

After graduating magna cum laude from LU in 1991 with a B.S. degree in Pastoral Ministries, Pastor John attended Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary graduating cum laude with a Master of Religious Education degree in 1993. John has served in various staff positions at CBC since 1991.  God led him to accept the call to the senior pastor position in December 2005. Pastor John is enrolled currently as a Doctoral Candidate at Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana.  He and his wife, Becky, have two grown children, Matthew and Loren.

Rev. Marvin A. Wegner
Associate Pastor for Church Ministries

Pastor Marvin has been in church ministries since 1970 as a camp director, youth pastor, and senior pastor in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He attended Appalachian Bible Institute in Bradley, West Virginia and Calvary Bible College in Kentucky and graduated with a B.A. degree in Bible.  He has earned a Master of Ministry degree from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin.

Pastor Marvin and his wife, Barbara, have been at CBC since March of 2007.  They have four children.  Their son, Tim, is serving in the Air Force, Joel is an Associate Pastor at CBC, Bill is an assistant pastor in Virginia, and their daughter, Joy, is serving the Lord in China.

Rev. Joel A. Wegner
Associate Pastor to Youth & Music

Pastor Joel has been the youth pastor at CBC since 1997.  Pastor Joel and his wife, Vicki, have a great desire to help our pastor to fulfill the church’s twenty-year vision, “Fifty by Faith”, of sending 50 of our own people into full-time Christian service by our target date of 2023.

Joel graduated from Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, West Virginia in 1994.  He has recently earned a Master of Ministry degree from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin.

Pastor Joel and Vicki have one son, Micah Andrew.  They are very privileged to serve at CBC with Joel’s father, Pastor Marvin, whom the church hired in 2007.
