The Gospel Message

It is the desire of the members of Colonial Baptist Church that all those who visit this site know Jesus Christ in a personal way and be assured of their eternal salvation through Him.  To that end, will you take a walk with us down the "Romans Road" and see what the Bible has to say about salvation?

  1. Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."  All of humanity are sinners in the sight of God, apart from the love of God, and are in need of a Savior.
  2. Romans 5:8 - "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." God, because of His great love for man, sent His perfect Son, Jesus, to die for the sins of all mankind.
  3. Romans 8:1 - "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…" The death of Jesus takes away the penalty of our sin and reconciles those who accept His salvation back to God the Father.
  4. Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Jesus offers His salvation to any and all who place their faith and trust in Him.
  5. Romans 5:1 - "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." When we accept the free gift of salvation offered to us by Jesus, we are given a new relationship with God the Father and assured of a home in heaven with Him for all eternity.

Friend, if you have read through and understand these portions of Scripture then would you be willing to take the step of faith that will bring you into a right relationship with God?  If so, then would you pray this simple prayer from your heart to God:

"Dear Father God, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe in my heart, that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sins.  I believe my sins required death forever in Hell but Jesus paid the price for my sins and all I have to do is surrender my will and trust in Him alone to save me from the consequences of my sin.  I confess and repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness.  I accept this free gift of eternal life in Christ and trust Him as my Savior right now.  In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen."

If you, from a sincere heart, prayed this simple prayer would you take time to let us know about it so that we may encourage you in your "new life" in Christ.  We want to give you some resources to help you grow into to the man or woman that God would have you be and experience the "life more abundant" that Christ Jesus wants you to have.  Please fill out the response form on this page or call the church office right now (540-977-5683 - during normal working hours) and let us rejoice with you and help you. We are praying for you and we care very much.

We would love to hear from you!
